In 2020, the National Electrical Code changed and an emergency disconnect is now necessary for all 1 and 2 unit homes (dwellings).
We see so many many homes and they do not have a disconnect.
Here is why?
If for some reason your home catches fire, floods or there is some natural disaster, first-responders cannot enter your home without turning off the electrical power from the utility company. If you do not have a disconnect device installed, they cannot enter the home and this could mean, your home has to burn or worst.
Don't be the only person without a disconnect in your area.
It's code and when we install it, it will be inspected by the City and noted in your deed filings, that a disconnect was installed.
